I was Inspired!

I had totally forgotten about this blog until today, My friend has started one and it inspired me to get back at it. I had been so tied up in facebook that I lost touch with the blog. Well here's the update:
Our Princess( Eisley)- is now 5
My son ,Preston- is 17 and now lives with his dad , much to my dislike...but I was told by a judge I had no choice but to let him go.
Mike's oldest daughter- Andrea(21)- Is in 3rd year at ETSU and in the nursing program and doing very well.
Mike's Youngest daughter, Brooke ( 17)- After a trying 1.5 years she has been leaving with us since August 2010, not by her choice and she is counting the days until she is 18.
Mike's Oldest son - Dylan (15) doing well in school and is now as tall as his daddy.
Mike's Youngest - Dalton (11)- We dont get to see too much, he still has never tried to become close to his father. He has gotten into Coon Hunting and having a blast at it.
Mike finally has kept a job for one year and has not missed a day. Who ever thought A correctional officer would become his niche, he loves it! I am embarking on my 11th year of nursing, WOW!! Over the years , it has been a trying career. Everyday I so want to do something else, but I am stuck...I have nothing to fall back on.

Well it has been awhile.

So much has happened since I last blogged but I will not bore anyone with all the details of our crazy life. we just try to manage and get by day to day. Preston is 15.5 yrs old and has driving permit. yes he is that old now. It seems like only yesterday that he was born weighing 3lbs 1 oz. now he is a big stocky high school teen. he has had his little girlfriend Shanna for awhile. This week he is off to NJROTC boot camp. He loves it and I am so proud of him. Eisley will be 4 in September. We are busy planning her Luau bday party. We are excited, even learning to hula dance ourselves. She has grown so fast. She is so smart, always has something funny to say and loves playing with her Barbie's. ( some of them were mine and Haleys'). We are so blessed to have our health. Mike had surgery in May to repair a umbilical hernia and did awesome. I have been doing well despite my almost daily body pain. I will never let it stop me. I just keep going. I have gotten into reading Karen Kingsbury books , she is amazing and I am on my 3rd book of hers. I have probably read about 30 books already this year. It is my stress reliever. My moments of peace where I can be anyone else.

McDowell County Is in the news Again!

Yesterday one of our highway patrolman had a routine traffic stop and was attacked by the young mcdowell cty man with a box cutter to the face. This all happened at Sugar Hill exit. Once the car was stopped , the guy ran from the car and jumped the bridge. He was also shot by the highway patrolman. We just can not seem to stay of of the news. For a small town , it has been crazy lately and so much has been a friend of my past of present or close to my hospital family. There have been so many things so far 2008 here , it is scary.
Tonight a benefit is being held for Martin Lawing ,hopefully it will bring in lots of money for them. Everytime I think of them , I could just cry.
They are so strong!!
Well so far Haley and Eisley have escaped the stomach bug. Mom and I are still feeling the affects of it. It just seems to linger and linger. Constant Nausea.
I will be glad when my appetite is back and my belly feels better.
My son signed up for NJROTC for next year, I don't know if he quite understands the seriousness of it, but I think it will be great for him. Well go to go and finish making my chicken pie.
ta ta for now ( as tigger would say)

Back to Blogging!!

I have had the stomach virus and I really thought I was going to die. I hurt so bad all over. It pretty much sucked. I pray my kids aren't next. My husband and father started it this time.
Well as I sit here I am coloring my hair, going back to a little blonde for a while. To see if I can have more fun as a blonde. I could use some excitememt.
Just when I think our lives are starting to turn around. My husband lost his job last week. Sometimes I think I can not take much more.
I am looking forward to the shows starting back up now after the strick, and of course we are fellow American Idol followers.
Tomorrow , I am teaching my first clinical class for the CNA II program. I am excited. I hope they have more work for me in the future, right now I just fill in as needed.

Drama, Drama , Drama

I started this blog to begin blogging as my since of support for other women who find themselves in my current life , as step mom of 4 children. It is a rough and I feel much unappriecated at times. I love my husband even with the drama but it does cause some bumps along the way. One day they will all be grown and Mike and I will be missing the drama somehow.
The Gosslings have ( 8 kids) and I love to watch their show. I feel like our life is a reality show or a sitcom, however you see it.
I also have many funny tales of my nursing career and can offer any advice in that matter too.
Sorry if I have offended anyone and I removed all other controversial posts.
I feel I can exercise my rights of freedom of speech.

Memorial Service

Yesterday we had a beautiful Memorial service for my grandmother Margaret "Cricket "Brown. It was so sad due to "family circumstances " that her sisters and neices were unable to attend. It is so sad that families can not seem to get along. Even when tragedy strikes , that family members can not come together and make peace somehow.
